Tech companies earn 56% of their revenue outside of the US.
Getting there is complex and takes a measured approach and dedicated resources.
Hello, I'm Steph Peterson.
I help growth-stage tech companies break into new markets. I embed as an operator at two pivotal moments: when growth has plateaued and GTM needs to evolve, or when there’s opportunity to expand internationally.
International growth has been a throughline of my career. I took a startup's international revenue from near zero to over 50% of total before it went public, launched Xbox internationally at Microsoft, and scaled YouTube's global operations at Google.
Practice & Services
Engagements are typically structured as long-term, embedded partnerships. I move between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. All systems are built to scale and designed to transition smoothly as the business evolves.

When growth stalls, the fix usually isn't more spend; it's a broken segment, positioning, or offer. I find what's actually broken and rebuild the strategy so the team knows exactly who to sell to and the context and conditions when customers are likely to buy.

Deciding where to go next and how to win once you're there means weighing market size, competition, pricing, and local operating realities. Positioning, partnerships, channel development, and go-to-market plans get built for each market based on data and local intelligence.

Pricing, packaging, and operational structure get built to scale, not to patch. I use AI methodically throughout, not as a trend to chase, but as a tool that speeds up research, testing, and execution without cutting corners.
